One Task a Day: The therapy for having no motivation?

Saturday: After a trip to the doctor I was told that I should try and take things one at a time and do one a day.
So, I’ve put everything on hold and have just set myself the task of completing one task a day. On Thursday I did my laundry, Friday I finished off drying and Saturday I made some calling cards and finished putting the printer back together. That’s four things in three days! While it’s hardly anything by normal peoples standards, compared to me spending all my time worrying about what I was supposed to be doing, it’s a great improvement.

I’m going to keep on trying to do just one thing a day for a month or so. I should feel free to try more than one, the important part is not over stretching or and definitely not worrying about what I haven’t yet done.

Update – Sunday: I’m feeling a lot better about getting things done. Just now I found myself thinking “What am I going to get done tomorrow?” as if I was actually looking forward to it.

  1. Hola old friend. You probably don’t remember me…but we were going to due a manga mangazine together along with my twin and a few other people. I just wanted to know if you would like to “get the book/magazine done.” My brother and myself are willing to work on it. We don’t have to rush it but now that i found you and see that you gotta take things easy, I figured Let’s Try it!

Also, I hope you feel better. :) And I hope your getting your work done. Peace outy.

  2. That sounds like a really good idea. As Rym and Scott always say “Attack only one.”
